Parkland Scholar House, renovated from the historic Parkland Public School building, provides 48 beautiful, safe, sanitary and affordable housing to the Parkland community. Parkland Scholar House consists of one 1.8079 acre site located at 1309 Catalpa Street in Louisville, a residential neighborhood with convienent access to the grocery stores, public and private schools, churches, restaurants, pharmacies, public transportation, and a freeway. The 34,779 sq. ft. building was built in 1891 and for decades served as a school house for the surrounding neighborhood. After the school closed its door, it sat vacant for years, before Marian and Family Scholar House together transformed the building into what you see today.
