As rental rates continue to rise across the country, more and more families are in urgent need of affordable housing. Marian has a rich history of developing excellent, beautiful projects that any family would be happy to call home. Over the last twenty years, we’ve developed dozens of projects utilizing tools like 4% and 9% tax credits. Examples: Riverport Scholar House, Belleview, The Dunlap.
What’s old can be made new again, or at least that’s what we believe at Marian. We’ve turned old schools into affordable homes for young families, historic textile mills into modern apartments, and abandoned warehouses into college classrooms. We take great pride in giving a second or third life to buildings that have stood the test of time, allowing them to continue to give back to the neighborhoods they call home. Examples: UofL’s Hite Art Institute, Bradford Mills, Lincoln Grant Scholar House.
Marian recently launched its newest brand: Vivera Senior Living. As our population ages, many seniors are forced to decide between living at home alone or moving into a traditional senior home, even if neither outcome sounds particularly pleasant. Vivera Senior Living will provide seniors the best of both worlds: giving them the independence of living alone while also providing access to much-needed affordable medical/communal resources. This will allow seniors to age in place in a beautiful environment and enjoy their golden years to their fullest. The first Vivera facilities will be opened in Columbus, IN, and Jeffersonville, IN.
